To apply for Food Stamps In Illinois, you need to follow three steps below:

Step 1: Complete and submit a SNAP application:
- Fill out your online Food Stamps, Cash, or Medical Assistance application. You can also fill out an application at your local Department of Human Services (DHS) office.
- You need to mail, fax or hand-deliver the application to the DHS Office after completing and signing it. You will be asked to come in for an in-person interview once your application has been received. Interviews can be conducted over the phone if you cannot leave your home.
